Research Services
The Rye Historical Society serves as the official archivist for the City of Rye. The collection includes over 25,000 documents including police reports, maps, photos, books, manuscripts, census data, real estate deals, government reports and other historical documentation.
The Rye Historical Society’s research services can help uncover the stories behind Rye’s people, places, and past. Research requests might include exploring the history of a house or property, a family’s connection to Rye, learning more about notable Rye figures, or investigating local businesses, organizations, events, and historic records.
Research Fees
Research: $35 per hour (Includes up to 5 scans)
Scanned documents and images: $2 per page
Pricing may vary for oversized images
Additional fees may apply
Staff reserves the right to refuse excessive or inappropriate requests

Delivery of documents and images does not include permission to publish or otherwise disseminate these materials.
