Radiant Roots, Tangled in Slavery: Revisiting Family Histories

A conversation with journalist Elizabeth Moore, descended from a Dutch New York merchant-politician active in the Colonial slave trade, and genealogist Teresa Vega, whose enslaved Malagasy ancestors came to Manhattan in the mid-1600s.

The two women will share the story of how they met, and how they reconcile what they’re learning about the past.
