Butterflies are truly a sign that spring has sprung.

In support of our community partners at the Rye Arts Center who will be unveiling butterfly-themed art sculptures for their 2024 RyesAbove: A Transformational Public Art Project, the Rye Historical Society celebrates the spring season with a new temporary exhibition featuring items from our extensive collection.

All items on display from the historical society’s collection showcases a connection with these colorful flying insects - especially our significant array of fans featuring distinctive butterfly designs.

Exhibition curated for all ages. 

We will be hosting family friendly activities in conjunction with the opening of our spring exhibition.

Exhibition is FREE and open Tuesday – Saturday, 10am to 4pm
