At the Square House!
Rye in Colonial Times, Historic House Tour - $200 - 1 hour - Learn about our historic Square House Museum, and discover how Rye participated in the Revolutionary War! (Tailored to all grades.)
Tour + A Look into Colonial Life - $300, 1.5 Hour - Introduce your students to the everyday experiences of colonial families through hands-on activities that highlight essential chores and herbal remedies. They will learn about the healing properties of herbs and create a colonial-style herbal sachet to take home, just as families did to freshen their homes and ward off illness. (Recommended for grades 1st–3rd)
Tour + Colonial Communication - $300, 1.5 Hour - Step back in time and explore how communication in colonial America was different from today! Students will discover the various methods used to share information and experience the art of writing with quills and ink, just as colonial Americans did. They will have the opportunity to craft their own letters using authentic materials and gain a deeper appreciation for the challenges of communication in an era without modern technology. (Recommended for grades 3rd–6th)

Native Americans of New York: The Land and the People are One - $250, 45 minutes (Also available at the Square House - $200) - Station based activity - through visual images, evidence based discussions, and artifacts, students will learn about the culture and lives of the Iroquois and Algonquian people. The program includes an opportunity for students to create a “Wampum” bracelet. 1-2 additional adult participation required. (Recommended for grades 3rd-4th)
