Hands-on-History Summer Camp

 

Parents looking for a unique and educational twist to their children’s summer experience will find the perfect fit at our Hands-on-History Summer Camp. Children ages 7-13 can spend three fun-filled weeks learning about everyday life at different times in history.

Located at the Square house Museum on Purchase Street in Rye, the camp runs Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 am to 2:30 pm from the week of July 9th through the week of July 26th. Campers will experience what life was like in the past through exciting hands-on experiences, including storytelling, arts & crafts, games, foods, and artifact exploration. Depending upon the group’s interest each week, culminating project for Friday Fun Days can include performing arts, creative arts, and design projects.

Week 1

(July 9-12)

We will take campers back to Colonial America.

Week 2

(July 16-19)

Learn about Native American life both before and after the arrival of Europeans.

Week 3

(July 23-26)

A full week of our popular War Games & War History Camp.

cost per child for all 3 weeks is $550. Weekly sessions also available at $200/week. We offer a 10% sibling discount.

Campers bring their own lunch and drink. Snacks are provided. We will have both indoor activities in the Square House and outside activities on the Village Green with field trips possible.
